At the request of the Ministry of Energy, and with grant funding from the Asian Development Bank and Japan’s “Japan Fund for a Prosperous and Resilient Asia and the Pacific (JFPR),” the “Pilot Project on Renewable Energy-Based Heating Systems” was successfully implemented at the Health Center of Chuluut Soum, Arkhangai Province. The inauguration ceremony was held on October 30, 2025.

Within the scope of the project, the health center building was fully insulated to reduce heat loss, and a comprehensive renewable heating system was installed. The system includes an 80 kW solar power plant, an 800 kWh battery storage unit, and a 90 kW air-to-water heat pump, all of which have been commissioned and put into operation.

As a result of this integrated heating system, the project is expected to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 81 tons annually, eliminate the need to burn 40 tons of coal each year, and generate an estimated annual savings of 25 million MNT in electricity and heating costs.

The system design was developed by Electro Engineering LLC, while G-Power LLC and Powertool LLC jointly carried out the implementation works.

Mongolia has pledged to increase its share of renewable energy to 30 percent of total domestic energy consumption by 2030. In support of this commitment, the Ministry of Energy has prioritized attracting foreign investment and is consistently advancing infrastructure upgrades, technological progress, and quality-of-life improvements in local communities through projects like this.
