
The Ministry of Energy of Mongolia (MoE) intends to implement a ca. 100 MW wind Independent Power Producer (IPP) project in Mandalgovi; and has appointed the International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group, as its lead transaction advisor for the competitive tendering of the ca. 100 MW wind IPP project (“the Project”). The Project will include the power plant and a 3 km transmission line connecting to the Mandalgovi substation.
MoE is looking for experienced private sector developers to design, finance, construct and operate the Project. In order to initially identify interested developers, expressions of interest are sought from companies with experience in developing similarly sized wind IPP projects. A prequalification of project developers is planned in early May 2026 as part of the bidding process.
